WEEKLY NEWS! DECEMBER 14, 2012

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK:
What a busy and exciting week we had!  All the children did a wonderful job at our Hanukkah program on Monday night.  I hope you all enjoyed it.  Tuesday was busy as we had fun with our 4th & 5th grade buddies.  We played games and made  edible dreidels.  They were yummy.  Wednesday we brought our program to River Garden where we sang to the residents there.  Thursday was our class party and book exchange.  Friday was just a fun, relaxing day.  We enjoyed reading many different Hanukkah books and we played some literacy and math games.  The children helped to make a thank you card for the firemen that helped out last week with our fire.  There is a picture below.  The children dictated to me what to say.  They did a great job.  I was impressed with their descriptive words!

REMINDERS: Please, for the New Year, I am asking that no one bring toys from home.  Moving forward, the child with the Share Bag is the ONLY one to bring something from home, they can bring up to THREE items in it.   I am going to stress this, since I don’t want any toys to be lost or broken.  Toys brought into the classroom often become distractions to learning.

FOLDERS/CHANGE OF CLOTHES:
During the break, please go through your child’s back pack and empty your child’s folder.  Please work on your child’s reading log during the break and please send in a change of clothes to leave here at school.

ABA/EMA: January 4: Ashton & Kyra.  January 11:  Charlie & Lizzie

WINTER BREAK: Our winter break will be December 17-January 1.  Classes resume on Wednesday, January 2nd.  Have a great break!

MYSTERY READER:  We had our first mystery reader last week.  Maytal’s sister  Eliana came in and read two books to the class.  You could hear a pin drop, while she was reading, the class really enjoyed it.  If you or anyone from your family would like to read to the class, please let me know.

THANK YOU TO ALL MY FABULOUS PARENTS!  OUR CLASS PARTY WAS A SUCCESS BECAUSE OF YOU!  YOU ARE ALL AWESOME AND SUPPORTIVE AND WE THANK YOU FOR THAT!

Below is the card that the class made and our mystery reader, enjoy!
