This week’s theme was Diversity. We learned about being different and what makes us the same. We read the book Bright Eyes, Brown Skin and saw a movie about being different . We also read One, You Can Be a Friend, The Curvy Tree, Glamorous Glasses, and The New Girl and… Me .
We had a snack that reflected how cool it is that the animal crackers were all different. Then we frosted them blue, like the book ONE. When we added the different colored sprinkles- they were even more awesome.
In P.E. we did an awesome obstacle course.
We worked on counting and matching beginning sounds.
Our letter of the week was “L”.
Our Mystery Reader was Ryan’s sister.
We will be celebrating the 100th Day of School on Wednesday, February 10th. We ask that you help your child celebrate by decorating a white t-shirt with 100 “somethings”. Please have your child wear this shirt on Wednesday!
We sent home a school trip permission slip for our two upcoming trips:
February 11, 2016 we will be visiting the Hands On Children’s Museum.
March 17, 2016 we will be visiting Diamond D Ranch.
Please sign the permission slip and return it along with $30.00 for both trips NO LATER THAN Monday, February 8, 2016.
We sent home the ASQ that should be completed by you and returned back ASAP if you have not returned it yet.
Please remember there is NO SCHOOL on Monday February 15th- President’s Day.
Sadly, last week we were down several friends due to illness- teachers too. We look forward to seeing everyone back this week- healthy, happy and ready to learn!
