Last week we continued our special program practice.
We also had many visitors! Ms. Yegelwel, the Kindergarten teacher, came to read to both VPK classes together. She read Miss Bindergarten gets ready for Kindergarten and the children enjoyed it. She will visit us periodically for the children to get to know her a little better. Thanks to Ms. Lisa for creating this special visit.
Tavi’s mom came to the class as the Mystery Reader and read the book Big Words.
We are focusing on a concentrated, smaller group of students, catering to their specific needs in the areas of fine motor control, math and phonological awareness and small sight word recognition. The children love to work in their green books- Handwriting Without Tears books. These are great activities for self-directed work.
Germs are invading! We continually combat the spread of germs by reminding the children the importance of careful hand washing. We sing the song to the tune of “Where is Thumbkin?”, “Tops and bottoms, tops and bottoms, in between, in between, wash them all over, wash them all over, now they’re clean.” Please have them practice this with you at home:)
Each day we practice for our Shoobee Doobee Shabbat program and the children take pride in their performance. Join us this Friday at 11:00am in the chapel! Our Shabbat Ema will be Sophia and the Aba will be Logan. Anna is our show and tell girl.
Our afternoon group enjoyed learning about blending with oil pastels in art class, and read a wonderful book during our library time in the day school. We also spent time with Rabbi Tilman, who taught the students how to say rain in Hebrew on our rainy day, and Mr. Evan sings and plays guitar with our class.
We love watching your children grow, learn and become wonderful people!
