Hello families & friends!
We had a simply “electric” time in Science Resource with Ms. Nancy! She showed us how to create our own electricity, by using play dough and a tiny light bulb! We were all amazed that we were able to turn on the light bulb! Too cool! 🙂
For a moment we all thought that it must be Summertime, with the wonderful weather that we had! Thankfully we were able to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air with all of our friends! 🙂
Everyone practiced recognizing and making the sound for the Letter of the Week…”Pp.” We paused to see how many “P’s” we could locate & were quite proud when we found so many! 🙂
Hooray, for the 100th Day in VPK!! Everyone came to school in their unique one of a kind, 100th Day of School shirt. We had stickers, jelly beans, marshmallows, cheerios, feathers, beads, pom poms, numbers, noodles, googly eyes, glitter, toys, crayons, and much MORE on all of the amazing shirts!!!! 🙂
We had a terrific time playing in our super cool 100th Day of school shirts with all of our friends! (Making sure not to lose any of our little details from our shirts!) 🙂
We practiced estimating and learning, how to guess without counting the objects! A clear box was filled with exactly 100 multi-colored cubes and the students had to “guess” how many cubes did they think was in the box. We received all sorts of responses (25, 6, 61, 1,000, 81, 108, 78, 46, 94, 10, 1,000, 10, and three people actually said 100!) Everyone did an amazing job!! 🙂
Next we captured the moment we celebrated the 100th Day of School in VPK!!! Please take note below each child’s picture, is what they said they would want 100 of…(The imaginations and creativity are wonderful!!!) 🙂
Frozen stuff! (from the the movie)
We had a Stranger Danger presentation done by the Knuckle Up Martial Arts instructors. Everyone practiced saying “911” if someone or something is having an emergency. Most importantly making sure that if we need help, we can go to the “good” strangers. (Please make this an ongoing conversation with your little one! Having them to always be aware of their surroundings!)
We had another surprise Mystery Reader session from Steven’s mom! She had everyone moving and following the instructions from the hilariously funny “Is everyone ready for fun?” and “I will surprise my friend!” book!!! Too funny! Thank you Steven’s mom! 🙂
Update: the bird houses were finally ready to be taken outdoors for all of the birds to enjoy! All of the students loved being able to find the perfect spot for their little bird house! (Stay tuned with more details on our “bird happenings”!! 🙂
We had two wonderful Share Chair sessions, for the Letter of the Week and the Student of the Week. Who knew so many different types of bears start with the letter “P,” as well as many types of items found in nature. We learned lots of new information about our Student of the Week, she loves picture books and going to Chili’s! Awesome job, girls!! 🙂
We had a very interactive Show & Tell, where everyone had to create a list of their favorite things! Making sure to include drawings of the items for reference. Wonderful handwriting, drawings, and sharing was done by everyone!!! KUDOS!!! 🙂
This is our Ema & Aba from our Shabbat! Plus, some surprise guests for a few friends! 🙂
