HIGHLIGHTS FOR WEEK OF NOVEMBER 12, 2012

WEEKLY NEWS!  I am thankful for you!  Thank you for coming out and talking with me during our conferences.  I had a 100% turn out so kudos to you!  This week and next we will be talking about Thanksgiving and what it means to be thankful.  This week we continue with our letter recognition and letter sounds.  We “read” “Leaves Fall Down” and the book is coming home with your child.  I had the children circle our sight word “the”  and then we colored the leaves and re  read the book, be sure to have your child read it to you.  We had a visit with our VPK buddies and we made muffins with them.  They were yummy.  We also did some cup cooking and made our own pumpkin muffins.

REMINDERS:  Next week is a short week.  Classes end at noon on Wednesday.  We also have our intergenerational activity on Wednesday.  All moms, dads, aunts, uncles and grandparents are invited to attend.  We will begin at 10:15 with a special project in our classroom.  From there we will sing a special Pow-Wow song.  At 10:45, we will have a Sin-A-Long in the indoor playroom. We will conclude with a special story and refreshments.  If you  can come for all or part that would be great.

FOLDERS:  Please check your child’s folder this week. I have included a copy of our number poems.  We have worked on 1, 2, 3 and we will begin number 4 next week.  There is another optional homework packet for this month.  These are the skills that we have been working on and this will help to reinforce what we have done.  As always, please continue to fill out your child’s reading log.

Below are some pictures of our VPK Buddies as they helped us make yummy muffins, enjoy!
